Don’t be afraid to knock down walls and rearrange the flow of the house. Blowing out walls is inexpensive compared to most of the upgrades you will be doing when flipping a house. The next time you are out looking for houses, consider that house that looks compartmentalized. Imagine what it would look like with a higher ceiling and less walls. The image below highlights walls that would be knocked out during the remodel.
Most buyers either don’t understand how easy it is to knock out walls or they simply can’t see past them. Their loss is your gain.
My friend, Vendi, can even see rooms where they did not exist before. He converted a grossly oversized master into a master and a bedroom, quite beautifully, turning a 3 bedroom house into a much more valuable 4 bedroom house.
Maybe you see a house that looks awfully dark… just add windows! Putting holes in the walls is not only good for anger management, it can brighten up a once dull house. Happy flipping guys!
